Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zaine Barr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JW McNee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zaine Barr could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to JW McNee's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zaine Barr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, JW McNee! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barr fails with a takedown attempt. Zaine Barr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Barr walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
It looks like Zaine Barr has been cut. Barr misses with a takedown attempt - McNee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. McNee with the counter takedown but Barr avoids it easily. Barr goes for a double leg but McNee avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McNee continues to drive forward. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zaine Barr. That's going to take a lot out of him. McNee gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. McNee turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McNee manages to end up in side control. Barr is trying to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McNee working the ground and pound. McNee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no McNee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Barr tries to bench press McNee off him but McNee keeps the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. McNee lands some shots froms side control. Barr is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked McNee off and has taken his back! McNee tries to roll but Barr sticks to his back.
McNee trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. McNee tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Barr tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. McNee is looking to improve his position but Barr isn't that keen on the idea. Barr trying to control but he's not successful this time. Barr thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McNee keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Barr is in the full mount, landing strikes. McNee tries to hold on but Barr postures up. McNee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Barr wants to control the pace but McNee is squirming around nicely. McNee taking shots to the head. Barr lands a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barr breaks from McNee's wrist control and lands an elbow. Barr with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Barr looking to finish McNee with some ground and pound. This is bad for McNee! Barr controlling his opponent. Barr throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Barr prevents McNee from getting the reversal. Barr looking to control and managing it successfully. Barr postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. McNee looks a forlorn figure.
McNee really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Barr lands a heavy elbow. Barr prevents McNee from getting the reversal. Barr trying to control but McNee is having none of it. Barr controlling the position easily from mount. Barr has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. McNee working to try and regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Zaine Barr dominated that round. The cut man is working on Zaine Barr's cut. That's time! Barr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Barr slips a jab from McNee. McNee forces Barr back against the cage and clinches. McNee gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Barr looking to hit a scissor sweep but McNee is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barr looking to control.
Barr has control of McNee's left arm, preventing McNee from doing any damage. McNee missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barr looking for a guillotine here but McNee defends easily.
Barr keeping moving, preventing McNee from controlling successfully. Barr is adopting a defensive guard. McNee must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. McNee scoring with punches to the head and body. McNee trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. McNee with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Barr preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hammerfist, elbow! yells McNee's corner. There ya go! There ya go! McNee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Barr looking to control.
McNee scoring with some ground and pound. Barr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McNee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McNee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Barr looking for a sweep. Not yet Barr, not yet. Barr is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! McNee rolls with it to try and escape but Barr cranks on the arm and McNee is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
