PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Goff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drevin Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Goff! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Drevin Bell! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bell lands a left and a right that send Goff crashing to the mat, dazed. Bell thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Goff doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Bell throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Goff counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Goff throws a sloppy head kick and Bell moves out of range easily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bell slips a jab from Goff. Goff closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bell did well to prevent Goff getting side control. Bell wants to improve his position but Goff is controlling well.
Goff working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bell flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Bell pushes Goff off looking to stand but Goff dives back in and keeps control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goff tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Bell tries to get to full guard but Goff has control of the leg. Goff looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goff thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bell's head. Goff scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
It looks like Drevin Bell has been cut. Goff is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Goff content to control rather than advance. Goff decides to return to a standing position. Goff tries to clinch but Bell moves out of range. Bell lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Today's fight clock is brought to you by... OOOH that's a huge shot by Bell! Goff is in big trouble here - the ref steps in to save him and this one is all over!
