Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fyodor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nik Tamere (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nik Tamere will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fyodor Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nik Tamere! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tamere moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Tamere scores with a spinning back kick! Tamere will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tamere has a takedown stuffed. Tamere is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Tamere shoots in and drives through. Emelianenko sprawls well. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Tamere dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Emelianenko. That did some damage! Emelianenko is breathing heavily. Tamere misses with a two punch combination.
Emelianenko fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Tamere takes the fight into the clinch. Tamere creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Emelianenko's defenses. Tamere pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Tamere knocks Emelianenko to the floor with a head kick! Can he finish him!?
It looks like Fyodor Emelianenko has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Tamere thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Tamere decides to take the fight back to the feet. Tamere fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Emelianenko. Tamere lands with a slapping head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tamere gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tamere breaks from the clinch.
Tamere closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Emelianenko to the mat! Emelianenko manages to get full guard. Tamere slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tamere decides to stand back up. Tamere steps back and let's Emelianenko get back to his feet. Emelianenko throws a lazy head kick and Tamere counters with a nice body kick. Emelianenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tamere's waist but Tamere gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emelianenko off to one side. Tamere keeps the fight on the outside. Emelianenko scores with a takedown into Tamere's guard. Tamere is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Tamere is working an open guard so Emelianenko takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Tamere closes the distance and clinches up with Emelianenko, looking for a takedown. Tamere pushes Emelianenko against the cage but Emelianenko circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Fyodor Emelianenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nik Tamere. Tamere is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Emelianenko was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tamere is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Emelianenko wants to finish this one by submission but Tamere is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Emelianenko. Emelianenko wants to control the pace but Tamere is squirming around nicely. Emelianenko is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tamere can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Tamere manages to avoid the submission attempt. Emelianenko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tamere is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Tamere wants to get back to his feet but Emelianenko drags him back down. Tamere takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Emelianenko is chipping away with strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko scores with a couple of short elbows. Emelianenko working away. Emelianenko is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tamere is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Emelianenko tries for a kimura but Tamere is defending well. Tamere sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Tamere tries to get to full guard but Emelianenko has control of the leg. Emelianenko sitting and controlling from the half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nik Tamere dominated that round. The cut man is working on Fyodor Emelianenko's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Tamere throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Emelianenko shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tamere pinned against the cage. Tamere gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Nik Tamere seems to be getting the better of the standup. Tamere misses with a wild combination.
Tamere wants to clinch up but Emelianenko keeps it at a distance. Emelianenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tamere's waist but Tamere gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emelianenko off to one side. The fight stays on the outside here - Tamere looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Tamere fails with a takedown attempt from distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tamere shoots in looking for a takedown. Emelianenko tries to sprawl out of it but Tamere keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Emelianenko manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Tamere clinches with his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Emelianenko tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tamere smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fyodor Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Emelianenko drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tamere manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Emelianenko is trying to stand.

Emelianenko is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Tamere has his hands clasped together but Emelianenko extends an breaks Tamere's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Emelianenko.
