Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Federico Manta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sean Juan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Manta comes to the cage accompanied by Ultima Corsa by Mondo Marcio. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Juan throws an overhand right that lands on Manta's shoulder, as Manta tries to avoid the shot. A punch lands to the side of Juan 's head but he takes it in his stride. Juan tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Juan lands a right hook to the body.
Juan throws a body punch but Manta moves out of range. Juan scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
It looks like Federico Manta has been cut. Juan's coach down at Tōshi was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Juan's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Manta tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Juan manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A big right from Juan misses. A big left from Juan misses. Manta misses with a double jab.
Manta misses with a straight left. Juan let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Juan lands a really nice looking cross but Manta seems unphased.
Juan tries to close the distance and clinch but Manta swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Manta with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Juan to score with a decent uppercut. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Juan throws a body punch but Manta moves out of range. Manta blocks a jab. Manta with a nice cross. Juan scores with a slapping inside leg kick.

Federico Manta is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Manta moves out of range of the leg kick from Juan. Manta throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Juan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Manta slips a straight right by Juan. As Juan tries to get set, Manta tries to push him back and clinch up but Juan manages to avoid the attempt. Juan needs to keep his hands up - Manta had a free shot at his head there. Juan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Manta looking for submissions off his back. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Juan is thwarting Manta's attempts to control the position. Juan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Manta defending well though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manta tries to get to full guard but Juan has control of the leg. Juan is pressing down on Manta's thigh, looking to free his foot. Manta is holding on for now. Juan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Manta does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Juan wants to pass to mount but Manta is defending the position. Juan is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Manta reverses the position - he's now on top in Juan's guard. Manta cracks Juan with a solid left hand. Manta sitting in guard here, content to control. Juan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Juan is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Manta won't allow Juan to pass to mount. Manta trying to hold on to Juan's head to control him but Juan postures up.
Manta works his way to full guard. Good work. Juan advances position into side control! Juan is looking to take a break and control but Manta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Manta is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Juan tries to advance to mount but Manta denies him. Juan tries to move to full mount but Manta actually manages to regain half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Manta wants to improve his position but Juan is controlling well.
Manta slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Juan stands and throws Manta's legs to the side, diving into side control. You can see the frustration on Manta's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Manta is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Juan is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Manta tries to get back to half guard but can't. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Manta manages to work his way to half guard, despite Juan's best efforts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sean Juan dominated that round. The cut man is working on Federico Manta's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Manta moves out of range of the strikes. Juan throws a leg kick but Manta checks it. Manta throws a head kick that misses. Manta avoids the body shot from Juan.
Juan throws a body kick, spinning off balance and Manta connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Juan throws a leg kick which misses Manta's front leg but catches the back leg as Manta tries to avoid it. Manta goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Manta connects with a nice looking jab.
Juan walks into a jab. Manta chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Juan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Manta scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Manta connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Manta closes the distance looking to clinch and Juan counters with a stiff right hand. Juan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Manta defends well and Juan ends up having to push Manta into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Federico Manta is winning the standup battle so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Manta lands an impressive looking overhand right. Juan doesn't seem phased though. Manta throws a half hearted mid kick. Sean Juan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Manta lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Juan misses with a wild body shot. Manta uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Juan.
Juan throws a push kick but Manta slaps the foot to one side. Juan on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Juan. Manta walks forward, straight into a front kick from Juan. Juan throws a big shot that misses. A low kick from Manta misses and Juan counters with a lovely shot to the body. A big left from Manta misses. Juan tries a quick counter leg kick but Manta is wise to it. Manta slips a jab from Juan. Manta bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Manta darts in and out, connecting with a jab. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Manta avoids the head kick by Juan.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Manta throws out a powerful jab. Manta scores with a nice strike.
Juan is rocked! Manta gets in close and instigates a clinch. Juan is still on wobbly legs! Can Manta finish him? A short right from Manta on the inside. Manta pushes Juan against the cage. Manta is working some dirty boxing. Manta pushes off with a quick right hook! Juan goes down! Juan tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Manta moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
