Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Phil Ivey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Bowhime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Bowhime is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Ivey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Bowhime! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Eddie Farnsworth and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ivey swats away the attempt to clinch by Bowhime. Ivey misses with an uppercut. Bowhime drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ivey has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bowhime can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Bowhime avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ivey keeping moving, preventing Bowhime from controlling successfully. Ivey working for a triangle but Bowhime defends it easily.
Bowhime thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Bowhime controls from within his opponent's guard.

Ivey escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bowhime gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Bowhime avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ivey controls Bowhime momentarily but Bowhime frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowhime is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bowhime works a leg free and moves into half guard. Bowhime is trying to control the action in half guard but Ivey is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Bowhime thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ivey's head. Bowhime really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ivey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Bowhime trying to mount his opponent but Ivey defends it. Bowhime is working for a kimura but Ivey is defending it quite comfortably.
Bowhime looks gassed! The fighters are battling for position here. Ivey manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Ivey not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bowhime must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ivey keeping moving, preventing Bowhime from controlling successfully.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Bowhime keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Ivey tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ivey looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Ivey misses with a takedown and Bowhime counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Ivey! Ivey gets back to half guard. Ivey is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bowhime pulls his head out easily. Ivey slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Bowhime trying to control but Ivey is working from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ivey trying to keep a closed guard but Bowhime is proving a slippery customer.
Ivey has his foot on Bowhime's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bowhime works his way back into a safe position though. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Bowhime trying to control the position from guard on top but Ivey is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bowhime makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bowhime thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Bowhime is sitting in close to Ivey's body. Ivey has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Bowhime is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Bowhime is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Ivey.
