Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Eric Bueller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Craig Clifton! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clifton shoots in looking for a takedown. Bueller tries to sprawl out of it but Clifton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bueller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bueller has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Death Valley Training Facility in the buildup to the fight. Clifton on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Bueller connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Clifton misses with a takedown attempt and Bueller counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Bueller throws the left hand but Clifton avoids the punch easily. Bueller clinches with his opponent.
Bueller breaks the clinch.
Bueller misses with an uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clifton shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Bueller counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like Craig Clifton has been cut. Eric Bueller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Craig Clifton. Clifton uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Bueller. Clifton takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bueller throws a looping overhand right but Clifton ducks down to avoid it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clifton tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bueller sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Clifton somewhat. Bueller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bueller lands with an uppercut that bounces Clifton off the cage and back into range. Bueller is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. Clifton ducks under a wild hook from Bueller. Bueller getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Clifton is rocked! Clifton shoots in but no luck this time. Bueller connects with a right hand. Clifton shakes it off. Clifton is still on wobbly legs! Can Bueller finish him? Clifton misses with a takedown attempt - Bueller sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bueller throws a lazy head kick and Clifton decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bueller's guard. Bueller uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Clifton seems to have recovered his senses. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Clifton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bueller.
Bueller displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Clifton.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bueller is looking to clinch. Clifton's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Bueller connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Clifton scrambles back to his feet. Bueller cracks Clifton with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Bueller has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Clifton to stand back up!
Clifton is rocked! Clifton gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Bueller points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Clifton wakes up just in time to hear Bueller thank his coaches in the post fight interview.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Eric Bueller! Eric Bueller decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
