Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Julian Richardson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Chang!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chang has his takedown stuffed
and Richardson makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Chang really felt that one!
Richardson dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Chang. That did some damage!
Chang misses with a takedown
and Richardson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Chang throws a jab when Richardson was well out of range.
And Richardson counters with a quick kick to the body but Chang blocks it.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Chang crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Richardson - the referee stops the clock and Chang gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Richardson. Chang manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Chang takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Chang looks winded!
Richardson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Chang stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mike Chang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Richardson connects with a solid leg kick.
Richardson works Chang's body with a nice hook.
A nice leg kick lands there from Richardson.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Richardson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Richardson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Richardson throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A chopping leg kick lands by Richardson.
Nice shot lands for Richardson.
Richardson throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
A nice leg kick lands there from Richardson.
Chang takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Richardson scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Richardson lands a big head kick that sends Chang tumbling to the mat! Richardson takes a step backwards and waves Chang back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Chang is rocked!
It looks like Mike Chang has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Richardson jabs at Chang's body.
Chang is still on wobbly legs! Can Richardson finish him?
Richardson throws a nice outside leg kick.
Richardson connects with a solid leg kick.
Richardson thumps Chang with a low kick.
Chang walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Richardson swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
