PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between He Jin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Batyrovich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, He Jin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Batyrovich!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Batyrovich shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Jin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Batyrovich is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Jin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Batyrovich's back instead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Batyrovich pushing down on Jin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Jin is bucking up trying to escape but Batyrovich cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Batyrovich cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Jin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Batyrovich throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Jin moves out of range of the strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on He Jin's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Batyrovich pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jin is out of range and Batyrovich settles back down.

Batyrovich sizes up Jin with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ivan Batyrovich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Batyrovich rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Batyrovich throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jin checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Batyrovich chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Jin tries to clinch up but Batyrovich circles away and keeps his distance.
He Jin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Batyrovich buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Batyrovich drops Jin with a left and a right! Oh, Jin is hurt - Batyrovich dives into side control looking to finish!


Jin is rocked!

Batyrovich scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jin to see if he's OK.
Oh Jin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!


He Jin's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at He Jin's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Ivan Batyrovich! Ivan Batyrovich retains his light heavyweight title!
