Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonny Hendry!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hendry feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hendry's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz controlling the position.
Hendry trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hendry slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Diaz.

Diaz wants to improve his position but Hendry is controlling well.
Diaz is trying to maintain the position but Hendry is very close to passing his half guard.

Hendry is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Diaz misses with some strikes from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Diaz is refusing to be controlled, as Hendry sits in half guard.
Hendry slows the pace down in half guard.
Diaz wants to get back to full guard.
Diaz wants to control but Hendry is keeping busy.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Hendry lands with a punch from half guard.
Hendry uses his free foot to push down on Diaz's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Diaz.
Diaz is trying desperately to improve position.

Diaz wants to hold on but Hendry pushes him away.

Hendry jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Diaz is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Diaz and Hendry has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Diaz is trying to control Hendry's posture but Hendry avoids it.
Diaz is trying to escape the position but Hendry is controlling the position.

Diaz is not content to let Hendry control the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hendry stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Hendry has Diaz up against the cage in a clinch.

Hendry tightens his grip and picks Diaz up, before dumping him to the ground. Diaz manages to land in guard.
Diaz looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hendry is one step ahead there.
Hendry showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Diaz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hendry won't allow Diaz to sweep him here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hendry gets to his feet - Diaz follows without any prompting.
Hendry lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Hendry shoots in and gets a takedown into Diaz's guard.

Hendry is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jonny Hendry has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hendry is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Diaz defends it well.
Diaz trying to get back to full guard but Hendry takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Hendry has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Diaz is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Hendry landing strikes from the mount and Diaz is in trouble!
Diaz is trying desperately to improve position.
Hendry tries to control but Diaz wriggling away.

Diaz tries to lock up and control but Hendry gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hendry lands a big shot there that rocks Diaz but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hendry controlling from mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Diaz tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hendry can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Diaz is looking to escape.
Diaz in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Diaz working to try and regain half guard.
Hendry controlling the position easily from mount.
Hendry avoids the attempt from Diaz to control.
Hendry lands with some strikes.
Diaz is trying desperately to improve position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Diaz tries to control Hendry's body but Hendry pushes him off. Diaz squirms to his side and now Hendry has his back!

Hendry has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Diaz has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Hendry has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Diaz is defending well but eventually Hendry manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Diaz has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jonny Hendry!
