Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Muhhamad Bin Zayed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
34 - 36 - 0, fighting out of London, Jimmy Caldwell! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Caldwell drives through and clinches with Bin Zayed against the cage.
Caldwell lands a right hand. Caldwell dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Caldwell lands a left hand.
Bin Zayed is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Bin Zayed is trying to maintain a safe position but Caldwell gets an underhook and turns Bin Zayed into the cage. Caldwell scores with a shot to the side of Bin Zayed's head. Caldwell breaks the clinch.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bin Zayed. Caldwell tries to work over Bin Zayed's front leg with a kick but Bin Zayed checks it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bin Zayed tries to clinch up but Caldwell circles away and keeps his distance. Caldwell shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Caldwell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bin Zayed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bin Zayed trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Caldwell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bin Zayed keeps working. Bin Zayed is defending against the submission attempts here by Caldwell.
Bin Zayed won't allow Caldwell to pass to mount. Caldwell seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bin Zayed does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Caldwell is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bin Zayed defends it well. Bin Zayed is looking for a sweep. Caldwell is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Bin Zayed is defending against the submission attempts here by Caldwell.
Bin Zayed gets full guard. Bin Zayed is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Caldwell trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bin Zayed's guard. Bin Zayed keeping full guard, as Caldwell tries to pass. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Caldwell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Bin Zayed has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Caldwell should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Bin Zayed has tightened it up now! Caldwell should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
