Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tyo Lok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dylan Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dylan Matthews will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyo Lok!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dylan Matthews!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Matthews tries to keep at a distance but Lok has taken the fight into the clinch.

Matthews successfully pulls guard.
Lok is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lok trying to control the position from guard on top but Matthews is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lok wants to stand but Matthews is controlling his posture from full guard.
Lok is stalling in the full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matthews looking to control.

Lok throwing strikes but missing.
Lok content to stall in guard here.
Lok wants to pass the guard but Matthews is keeping the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Lok misses with a takedown
and Matthews counters with a stiff right hand.

Matthews changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lok looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lok is being controlled here.

Lok bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Lok closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Matthews jumps guard but Lok turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Matthews escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lok shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Matthews as he jumps to the side.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Matthews avoids the head kick by Lok.
Matthews tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lok swats him away and circles back towards the center.
As Matthews looks to move away, Lok throws a big counter combo but Matthews just gets out of the way.
Lok throws a left and a right that both miss
and Matthews counters with a good low kick that Lok was not able to check.

Lok has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lok has had enough of the clinch but Matthews keeps him there for the moment.
Lok looking to throw knees to the head but Matthews is blocking nicely.
Lok wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Matthews breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lok shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Matthews counters with a one-two to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyo Lok. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lok moves into the clinch.
Lok is trying to push Matthews away but Matthews has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Lok throws a head punch that misses.

Matthews drags the fight down to the ground.
Matthews wants to sweep here but Lok controlling him for the moment.
Lok controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lok is looking to stand up but Matthews won't let him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lok thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Matthews is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Lok with a flurry of punches that miss.
Lok not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Lok tries to free his leg and advance position but Matthews is retaining full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lok enables Matthews to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lok manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Lok wants to get back to his feet but Matthews passes into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dylan Matthews will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lok is defended easily by Matthews.
Lok tries a low kick but Matthews avoids it.
A nice side step and Matthews releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Matthews slaps away a takedown attempt from Lok, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tyo Lok is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Matthews throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Tyo Lok has been cut.
Matthews has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

and Matthews counters with a head kick that drops Lok to the mat! Lok scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyo Lok. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lok doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Matthews counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Oh Lok is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lok throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Matthews on the side of the head.
Lok seems to have got his legs back now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lok shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Matthews pinned against the cage. Matthews gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Matthews changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Lok shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Matthews sprawls well. Matthews wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lok gets slowly back to his feet.

Matthews clinches up with Lok and pushes him back against the cage.

Matthews breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Matthews blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Matthews tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lok's elbow.

Matthews is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lok to keep the fight standing.

Lok has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Matthews uses from the top position.

Lok working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Matthews doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Matthews manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lok looking for a sweep. Not yet Lok, not yet.

Lok looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Lok is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Matthews trying to control the position from guard on top but Lok is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lok is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lok is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Matthews is aware though and is defending well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lok is looking to stand up but Matthews isn't so interested in that idea.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lok is on top in guard.

Lok pushes down on Matthews's leg and manages to get into half guard.

A close second round but Dylan Matthews will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's time! Lok's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Lok feints and as Matthews raises his hands in defense, Lok changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Matthews utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lok showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Matthews is looking for a sweep. Lok is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lok tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Lok has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Matthews wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Lok.

Poor strikes thrown by Lok there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Lok misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Matthews can't escape the position.
Matthews takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Matthews keeps trying to improve his position.

Lok swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Matthews is now in Lok's guard. A big mistake from Lok there, giving up the dominant position!
Lok is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Matthews really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lok. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lok is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Tyo Lok overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lok seems keen to control Matthews's posture.
Lok looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Dylan Matthews is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
