Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Finn Leinnon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gene Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shepard has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gene Shepard!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leinnon swats away the attempt to clinch by Shepard.
Leinnon tries to counter with a takedown but Shepard is quick to defend against it.
Leinnon dives in for a single leg takedown but Shepard sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Leinnon looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Shepard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Leinnon moves into the clinch.
Shepard tries for a takedown but Leinnon manages to get underhooks.
Leinnon jumps guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leinnon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Shepard looks winded!
Leinnon tries to stand and escape but Shepard is controlling the position.
Leinnon takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ground and pound from Leinnon.
That has opened up Gene Shepard's cut even more.
Leinnon wants to stand up but Shepard has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Shepard is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Leinnon scores with a couple of nice shots.
The cut above Gene Shepard's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gene Shepard's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Finn Leinnon!
A relieved looking Finn Leinnon thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
