Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jackson Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jose Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jackson Souza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jose Aldo! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aldo misses with a few strikes there.
Souza shoots for a takedown but Aldo saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Souza swats away the attempt to clinch by Aldo. Aldo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Souza shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Aldo tries to clinch up but Souza circles away and keeps his distance. Aldo is looking to clinch but Souza is avoiding it.

Aldo fails in his attempt to clinch. Souza keeps the fight on the outside. Souza shoots in looking for a takedown. Aldo tries to sprawl out of it but Souza keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Aldo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jackson Souza. That's going to take a lot out of him. Souza shoots in and drives through. Aldo sprawls well. Souza fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aldo, pushing him back against the cage. Aldo pressing his opponent against the cage. Souza tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Aldo smiles and moves away.
Jose Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice takedown defense from Aldo. No joy for Souza on that attempt. Jose Aldo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Aldo has closed the distance and engaged Souza in a clinch.

Aldo wants to get up but he can't break Souza's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Aldo decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Souza, up you get! A combination from Souza does no damage. Aldo clinches but Souza breaks the clinch and Souza counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Aldo is trying to stand up here but Souza is controlling him well. Souza wants to control but Aldo is keeping him busy. Souza tries to pass the half guard into mount. Aldo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Souza throwing shots but Aldo is blocking nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Souza blocks the strikes from Aldo.
Souza tries to pass to full mount but Aldo defends it. Souza is breathing heavily. Souza thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Souza prevents Aldo from standing back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Aldo closes the distance looking to clinch and Souza counters with a nice double leg into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Souza trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Souza won't allow Aldo to get back to his feet. Souza is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Souza pushes down on Aldo's leg and manages to get into half guard. Souza controlling the action here. Souza's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Aldo pushes Souza off looking to stand but Souza dives back in and keeps control.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Aldo is looking to escape. Souza trying to control the pace. Souza trying to control from half guard but Aldo is working away. Souza works his way into side control. Aldo is trying to buck Souza off. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jackson Souza dominated that round. That's time! Souza's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Souza. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Aldo's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Souza has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Aldo! Souza with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Souza throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Aldo because Souza loaded up on that one. Souza throws some wild stikes that Aldo manages to avoid easily.

Souza can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Aldo is looking to escape. Souza landing punches. Souza throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Souza wants to control the pace but Aldo is squirming around nicely. Souza dominating with strikes here. Aldo trying desperately to get to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Souza wants to control the pace but Aldo is squirming around nicely. Souza working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Aldo turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Souza off and cradles Aldo's limp body as Souza celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Jackson Souza!
