Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Moses Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tony Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Moses Banks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tony Lopez!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banks shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lopez as he jumps to the side.
Lopez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Banks counters with a left and a right that stings Lopez.

Banks tries to keep at a distance but Lopez has taken the fight into the clinch.

Lopez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Banks throws a sloppy head kick and Lopez moves out of range easily.
Banks misses with a head kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lopez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Banks pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lopez is looking to clinch but Banks is avoiding it.
Lopez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Banks swivels and escapes.

Lopez shoots in for a takedown but Banks shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Banks closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Lopez did well to prevent Banks getting side control.
Banks is trying to control the action in half guard but Lopez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Banks is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lopez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Banks.
Lopez is staying active underneath Banks, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Banks is taking a breather. Lopez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Banks is just content to waste time from the top position. Lopez takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Banks could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Banks slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Banks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lopez as he avoids it easily.

Banks goes for a double leg but Lopez avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lopez continues to drive forward.

Banks went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Lopez takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lopez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Banks sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lopez somewhat.
Banks looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Lopez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Banks jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lopez walks away with a smile on his face. Banks gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

It looks like Moses Banks has been cut.
Lopez closes the distance and clinches up with Banks, looking for a takedown. Lopez pushes Banks against the cage but Banks circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lopez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lopez wants it to stay on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Banks quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

Tony Lopez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Lopez shoots in but Banks avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lopez has his foot on Banks's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Banks works his way back into a safe position though.

Banks has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Lopez is working away from the top position though.

Lopez dives in and grabs Banks's left leg, looking for a takedown. Banks pushes down on Lopez's head and hops out.
Lopez shoots for a double leg takedown but Banks sprawls well. He's pushed Lopez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lopez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Banks avoids it really well and circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Moses Banks.
I think Banks has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
