Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnnie Sellers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jack Goff! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goff throws a body punch but Sellers moves out of range. Sellers seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Goff drives through with a takedown into Sellers's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Sellers has control of Goff's left arm, preventing Goff from doing any damage. Sellers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Sellers working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Goff. Sellers keeping moving, preventing Goff from controlling successfully. Sellers is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goff trying to control but Sellers is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Goff connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Sellers's hands. Goff doesn't manage to clinch there - Sellers circles away.
Goff catches Sellers with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
It looks like Johnnie Sellers has been cut. Sellers throws a right and a left that both miss. Goff doesn't manage to clinch there - Sellers circles away.
Goff throws a nice looking combination but Sellers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Sellers tries to sprawl but Goff drives through with a takedown into half guard. Goff wants to take a breather but Sellers is having none of it. Sellers wants to get back to full guard. Sellers regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Goff.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Goff lands a couple of digs. Goff throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Goff pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Sellers is keeping the position for now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sellers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Goff is one step ahead there. Sellers not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Goff is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Sellers is rocked! Goff arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Sellers's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jack Goff!
