Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Long Wang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wang is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ma Do Va Do. Long Wang will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Frank Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Long Wang! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wang closes this distance looking for a takedown but Diaz circles away. Wang tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Diaz swivels and escapes. Diaz keeps the fight on the outside. Frank Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wang misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Frank Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Long Wang. Diaz looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Diaz throws a front kick aimed at Wang's knee but Wang avoids it well. Diaz gets the takedown into side control. Diaz tries for a kimura but Wang is defending well. Diaz wants to control but Wang is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Diaz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wang gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Diaz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Diaz trying to control but Wang is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Diaz is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wang can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Wang is trying to stand. Diaz has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Wang's face.
Diaz can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wang is looking to escape. Diaz controlling his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Diaz unloading with bombs! A nice elbow there by Diaz. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wang looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Diaz lands a big elbow.
Wang is rocked! Diaz punishing his opponent with strikes. Wang is still in real trouble! Can Diaz finish him? Diaz with the ground and pound from mount. Diaz lands a heavy elbow. A nice elbow there by Diaz. Diaz controlling his opponent. Diaz working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Wang turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Diaz off and cradles Wang's limp body as Diaz celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Frank Diaz!
