Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dak Ishii! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Klaus VonMueller! The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ishii closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ishii lands in his opponent's guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! VonMueller is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. VonMueller avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. VonMueller manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Klaus VonMueller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A punch combination from VonMueller misses. VonMueller throws a big shot that misses. Ishii has a takedown stuffed. VonMueller throws a looping overhand right but Ishii ducks down to avoid it. A jab lands there for VonMueller. Ishii uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from VonMueller. Ishii shoots in for a takedown but VonMueller shows good takedown defense. VonMueller loads up on a big right hand but Ishii slips the punch. VonMueller stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. VonMueller works over Ishii's head and body with a nice combination. This has been an exciting period of action! VonMueller takes a swing at Ishii's ribcage but misses. Ishii bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. VonMueller loads up on a big right hand but Ishii slips the punch. VonMueller keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Klaus VonMueller is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. VonMueller tries to land a front kick but Ishii steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ishii shoots for a takedown but VonMueller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dak Ishii. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ishii tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but VonMueller swivels and escapes. Ishii fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Ishii moves away from the strike by VonMueller. VonMueller lands a head kick that stumbles Ishii and the fighters go to the mat.
Ishii is rocked!
It looks like Dak Ishii has been cut. VonMueller stands up from Ishii's guard - VonMueller perhaps looking for a knockout. Oh Ishii is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! VonMueller drops Ishii with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Ishii! VonMueller dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
