Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Makoto Nagano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kang Gary!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gary cracks Nagano with a right hand to the side of the head.
Nagano wants to clinch
and Gary counters with a left to the body.
Gary lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gary uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Nagano has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cozad MMA Tokyo in the buildup to the fight.
Nagano tries to clinch up
and Gary counters with a right hand to the body.
Gary smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Nagano has his takedown stuffed
and Gary counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gary.
Nagano is breathing heavily.
Nagano is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gary gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Gary is trying to break the clinch but Nagano is controlling him.
Gary breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Nagano has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nagano there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nagano tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gary manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Nagano tries for a takedown but Gary circles away easily
and Nagano takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Makoto Nagano. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gary lands a glancing blow to the side of Nagano's head.
Nagano walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
The crowd cheers as Gary lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nagano doesn't seem phased though.
Nagano with a poor takedown
and Gary holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gary breaks the clinch.
Nice uppercut lands for Gary. That snapped Nagano's head back.
Nagano is rocked!
Gary lands with a right and another and another! Nagano is in big trouble! Gary lands again and this time it's lights out for Nagano! A quality knockout there for Gary.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kang Gary!
