Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Artur Osinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson shoots in and drives through. Osinen sprawls well.
Osinen closes the distance but Jackson moves to the side

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Osinen has one foot on Jackson's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Jackson shoots in and gets a takedown into Osinen's guard.
Osinen is looking to stand back up but Jackson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Osinen.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Osinen trying to control but Jackson postures up.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jackson in particular looking to stall.

Osinen wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy.
Jackson scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Osinen tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Osinen is looking to control Jackson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Osinen avoid being mounted?
Still in half guard, Jackson seems content to control.
Jackson looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Osinen wants to improve his position but Jackson is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jackson lands a nice short elbow.

Osinen wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy.
Jackson with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Osinen wants to get back to full guard but Jackson has passed into side control.
Jackson grinds an elbow into Osinen's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Osinen is trying to improve his position.
Osinen is trying to work for a sweep but Jackson has mounted him!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jackson scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Jackson breaks from Osinen's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Osinen is looking to improve his position but Jackson isn't that keen on the idea.

Jackson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Osinen wants to clinch.

Osinen moves to clinch but Jackson breaks away

and Jackson counters with a shoot takedown. Osinen fights it but they end up in guard.
Jackson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jackson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brandon Jackson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Jackson moves into the clinch successfully.
Jackson wants to take the fight to the mat but Osinen manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Osinen is trying to maintain a safe position but Jackson gets an underhook and turns Osinen into the cage.
Osinen fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Osinen.
Osinen putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Jackson in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
Osinen tries to land knees in the clinch but Jackson avoids the damage to the body.
Jackson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jackson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Osinen is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jackson manages to pull guard.
Jackson is adopting a defensive guard.
Jackson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Jackson lands a nice short elbow.
Osinen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground.
Osinen gets back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Jackson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Jackson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jackson chips away with some ground and pound.
Brandon Jackson has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Osinen is keeping the position for now.
Jackson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jackson stands up from Osinen's guard - Jackson perhaps looking for a knockout.
Osinen closes the distance looking to clinch

and Jackson counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Osinen!

Jackson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Osinen, who protects the arm well.

Jackson decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Osinen wants to clinch up but Jackson keeps it at a distance.
Jackson tries to counter with a clinch but Osinen shakes him off and moves away.
Osinen scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Jackson takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Osinen enables Jackson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Osinen manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Jackson stands up over Osinen, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Osinen is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Jackson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Osinen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jackson keeps trying to improve his position.
Jackson connects with a couple of short punches.
Jackson passes Osinen's left leg - he's now in half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jackson is trying for a kimura here. Osinen looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Jackson wins by kimura!
