Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nathan Wallace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aaron Blood! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blood dips to his left and cracks Wallace with an uppercut! Wallace is looking to slow Blood down with leg kicks. Blood gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Blood throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Blood takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Blood looks to land a body kick but Wallace moved away. Wallace is looking to counter with a body kick. A looping hook to the body misses from Wallace. Blood does a little dance to reset his feet. We've been told by Wallace's head coaches at Gym Beam that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Blood throws a body punch but Wallace moves out of range. Blood closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Wallace to the mat! Wallace manages to get full guard. Wallace pulls Blood in to control the position. Blood tries to free his leg and advance position but Wallace is retaining full guard. Wallace is pulling down on Blood's head. It's preventing any offense from Blood, at least for the moment. Blood trying to control but Wallace is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Blood accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Blood in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Blood throwing strikes from guard but Wallace blocks nicely. Wallace is controlling Blood's posture.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Blood avoids a kick to the body.
Wallace lands a leg kick that knocks Blood off balance momentarily. Blood takes a swing at Wallace's ribcage but misses. Wallace looks to throw the jab but Blood is out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blood tries to move into range but Wallace moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Blood feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Wallace's calf. Wallace lands the left hand. Wallace thumps Blood with a low kick. Wallace connects with an inside leg kick. Blood throws a hook but Wallace blocks it. Wallace fires out a quick counter leg kick but Blood just manages to avoid it. Blood rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Wallace counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Blood gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Wallace gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Blood is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nathan Wallace! A relieved looking Nathan Wallace thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. In defeat, Aaron Blood stepped up to the mic, saying 'Jacob Whitehorse was too much for me tonight. The better game plan won tonight. I will wear this belt again, mark my words!'.
