Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gale Snoats (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lahiru Samarakoon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Lahiru Samarakoon was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lahiru Samarakoon!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Ren Mimura and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snoats falls off balance throwing a combination
and Samarakoon counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Snoats moves away from the strike by Samarakoon.
Samarakoon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Snoats looking to pass the guard.
Snoats passes Samarakoon's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Snoats perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Samarakoon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Snoats shoots in looking for a takedown. Samarakoon tries to sprawl out of it but Snoats keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Samarakoon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Samarakoon darts in and clinches Snoats up against the ropes.

Nice body punch from Samarakoon - that landed with a thud.

Snoats escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Samarakoon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Samarakoon tries to clinch but Snoats moves out of range.
It looked like Snoats wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Samarakoon throws a hook to the side of Snoats's head but Snoats sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Snoats counters with a nice low kick that buckles Samarakoon's knee momentarily.
Samarakoon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Samarakoon attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Samarakoon ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Snoats moves away.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Snoats, right into the meat.

Samarakoon tries to bum rush Snoats with a series of wild strikes but Snoats uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Samarakoon wants to get up but he can't break Snoats's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Snoats is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Snoats escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Samarakoon gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Snoats stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Samarakoon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Snoats is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Snoats seems to be looking for submissions.
Snoats sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Samarakoon defending well though.
Gale Snoats overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Samarakoon throws a looping overhand right but Snoats ducks down to avoid it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!
Snoats takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Samarakoon just misses with a punch to the body.

Snoats tries to clinch up but Samarakoon circles away and keeps his distance.
Samarakoon fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Snoats manages to avoid it.

The fight stays on the outside here - Snoats looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Snoats controls the position from side control.
Snoats tries to move into full mount but can't pass Samarakoon's legs.
The ground and pound from Snoats seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Lahiru Samarakoon.
I think Snoats has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
