PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Krzysztof Szczepaniak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Rafael Flores has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Rafael Flores seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Krzysztof Szczepaniak!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flores lands a jab.

Flores displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Szczepaniak throws out the jab.

Flores is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Szczepaniak.

Flores makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Szczepaniak creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Flores's defenses.
Flores blocks a punch to the side of the head.
We've been informed that Szczepaniak has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Flores avoids a wild elbow strike from Szczepaniak.
Szczepaniak tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

and Szczepaniak counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Flores swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Flores throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Szczepaniak stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Krzysztof Szczepaniak dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Flores lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Flores feints a jab promting Szczepaniak to slip. Flores then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Szczepaniak slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

and Flores counters with a crisp right hand that drops Szczepaniak! Flores lets Szczepaniak back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Flores lands a big right hand that sends Szczepaniak crashing to the mat! Flores stays standing though and waves Szczepaniak back to his feet!

A little feinted left hand from Flores on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Szczepaniak is still on wobbly legs! Can Flores finish him?
Szczepaniak misses with a right hand
and Flores counters with a big right hand! Oh Szczepaniak is in trouble here! Flores follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rafael Flores!
After winning the bout, Rafael Flores thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
