Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rei Higuchi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, John Casi!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casi darts in looking for a takedown but Higuchi gets double underhooks and turns Casi into the cage.

Higuchi gets the takedown into side control.
Higuchi lands a nice forearm strike.

Higuchi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Higuchi cracks Casi with a big right hand but Casi just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Higuchi has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Higuchi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Higuchi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Higuchi cracks Casi with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Higuchi is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Casi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Higuchi tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Higuchi has hold of Casi's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Casi seems comfortable defending it but Higuchi has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Casi is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Casi is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Higuchi couldn't care less - he's delighted!
