Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Roger Rydell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roger Rydell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jonny King! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rydell.
King closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Rydell actively working from the bottom here. King is keen to just control but Rydell is a slippery customer. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rydell looking for submissions off his back. Rydell missing with punches from the bottom.
King prevents Rydell from improving his position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. King decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. King throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rydell tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. King is in Rydell's guard. Rydell has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes King off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've been hearing reports that Rydell has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. King stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and King wants it to stay on the feet. Rydell tries a low kick but King avoids it. Rydell gets caught napping as King dives in and scores a takedown. Rydell manages to retain guard. King pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rydell is keeping the position for now. Rydell keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully. Rydell wriggles free and stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. This has been an exciting period of action! Rydell is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rydell is working hard here to advance position. King throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. King sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rydell is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Rydell tries to improve position but can't. King working away. Rydell stops King from passing to mount. Rydell tries to buck King off but King is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Rydell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Rydell manages to get back to half guard. Rydell is not content to let King control the position. Rydell is pressing down on King's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Rydell wants to sweep here but King controlling him for the moment. Rydell is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst King is controlling him. King thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rydell wants to sweep but no luck. Rydell pushes King off and gets back to his feet.
Jonny King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rydell fails with a takedown attempt from distance. King feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. King avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

King is trying to control the action in half guard but Rydell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Roger Rydell will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

King tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Rydell counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Rydell changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. King looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. King is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Rydell trying to control the action but King is working from the bottom. Rydell looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rydell decides to stand up, so the ref orders King to his feet. Rydell changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. King tries to avoid it but Rydell manages to keep hold of a leg and drag King to the ground. King escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. King throws a combination. Rydell tries to block but a couple of punches get through. King tries to clinch there but Rydell circles away.
Rydell dives in and grabs King's left leg, looking for a takedown. King pushes down on Rydell's head and hops out. King shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Rydell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Rydell's head. King decides to stand up. King shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Rydell wants to sweep but no luck. Rydell striking off his back but it's not causing King any problems. Rydell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and King defends well. Rydell wants to sweep but no luck.

Rydell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Rydell keeping moving, preventing King from controlling successfully. Rydell throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! King escapes and throws Rydell's legs to the side, diving into side control! King looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. King working away. Rydell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but King wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. King tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no King has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Rydell is looking for a sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jonny King showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Rydell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side. King cracks Rydell with a good jab. King looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Rydell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. King is working away from the top position though. Rydell regains full guard. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rydell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. King defends it easily. That's three minutes gone in the round. King looks to land a combination but Rydell avoids it well. Well,Rydell is on his way to losing a decision here. Can he use his experience to pull something off in the closing minutes? King closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rydell's guard. Rydell has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. King is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. King takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rydell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. King is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. King lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Rydell looking for submissions from an awkward position here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. King slows the pace down in half guard. Rydell wants to get back to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rydell looking for submissions off his back. King trying to control the action but Rydell is working from the bottom. Rydell flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Rydell tries to kick King off in order to stand up. King Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rydell prevents King from moving into mount. Roger Rydell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Rydell throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Rydell wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.
And that's the end of the fight! Jonny King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
