Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Watanabe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kumo LaRusso (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kumo LaRusso is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kenji Watanabe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kumo LaRusso!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watanabe closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into LaRusso's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Watanabe in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Watanabe works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Watanabe connects with a nice short shot to LaRusso's temple.
LaRusso looks like he's trying to stand up.
Watanabe throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if LaRusso can do anything to dispel that myth.
LaRusso blocking the ground and pound attempt from Watanabe.
Watanabe sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. LaRusso defending well though.
Watanabe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
LaRusso tries to get to full guard but Watanabe has control of the leg.
Watanabe is nestled in close to LaRusso, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
LaRusso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Watanabe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Watanabe lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.


LaRusso is rocked!
Watanabe scores with a big shot! LaRusso's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save LaRusso! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kenji Watanabe!
Kenji Watanabe seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
The defeated Kumo LaRusso had this to say: 'you will see me again'.
