The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, David Hoff and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Melegrito moves forwards but Khalafa connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Khalafa avoids a kick to the body.
Melegrito scores with a leg kick.
No joy there for Khalafa, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Melegrito throws a leg kick which misses Khalafa's front leg but catches the back leg as Khalafa tries to avoid it.
Khalafa instigates a clinch.
Khalafa makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
It looks like Lanel John Melegrito has been cut.
Melegrito trying to land knees to the body.
Melegrito tries to stall but Khalafa uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Khalafa stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Khalafa pushes Melegrito back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Khalafa works on Melegrito's body with a couple of short punches.
Melegrito is breathing heavily.
Khalafa lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Melegrito or not.
A right hook to the body lands for Khalafa.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Khalafa lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Khalafa lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Melegrito.
Khalafa lands an uppercut.

Khalafa scores with a shot to the side of Melegrito's head.
Khalafa makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Khalafa has a couple of punches blocked by Melegrito.
Oh Melegrito is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Khalafa unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Melegrito! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Khalafa is unloading with more strikes now! Melegrito drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yaser Khalafa!
