Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sampsa Pikari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Avon Stringer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sampsa Pikari!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Avon Stringer!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Stringer misses.
Avon Stringer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pikari tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Stringer was well out of range. Poor timing from Pikari.
Pikari displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stringer throws out the jab.
Stringer looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Stringer is looking to slow Pikari down with leg kicks.
Stringer misses with a head kick.
Pikari fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Stringer on the side of the head.
Stringer throws a right hand that Pikari ducks under and follows up with a left that Pikari also avoids with ease.

Pikari swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Pikari changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Stringer tries to avoid it but Pikari manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Stringer to the ground. Stringer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fighters circling - Stringer throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Stringer clobbers Pikari with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Pikari checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Pikari pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Stringer throws a lazy right hand but Pikari sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stringer walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Pikari checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Pikari digs a good body shot into Stringer's ribs.
Pikari walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

and Pikari counters with a three punch combo that has Stringer backing up. Stringer nods at Pikari to acknowledge the strikes.
Stringer falls off balance throwing a combination
and Pikari counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Pikari content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Pikari lands a couple of elbows.
Stringer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Pikari in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Pikari is pushing down on Stringer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Stringer is fighting to maintain full guard but Pikari has managed to sneak the leg through.
Pikari works his foot free and advances to mount.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stringer tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Stringer wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Pikari.

BOOM! Pikari connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Pikari looking for a guillotine from mount but Stringer is having none of it.

Stringer is wriggling around trying to escape.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stringer wants to hold on but Pikari pushes him away.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Sampsa Pikari will probably get the nod.

and Pikari counters with a nice uppercut.
Pikari ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Pikari is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Stringer lands with a straight right. Pikari didn't see that one coming.

Stringer closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Stringer uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Stringer lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Pikari sprawling to the canvas. Stringer follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Pikari hang on?

Pikari is pressing down on Stringer's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Oh Pikari is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pikari has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pikari wants to sweep but no luck.
Pikari seems to have got his legs back now.

Stringer trying to control but Pikari is working from the bottom.
Pikari has his foot on Stringer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stringer works his way back into a safe position though.
Stringer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Pikari had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Stringer is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pikari Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Stringer's back instead.
Stringer tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
