Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcel Knowles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ian Jay Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcel Knowles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ian Jay Jay!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jay gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Knowles decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Jay's guard.
Knowles is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Knowles working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Knowles postures up in Jay's guard and throws a big left but Jay blocks it.
Jay wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Knowles manages to pass to side control.
Jay looks like he's trying to stand up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Knowles throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Jay is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Knowles winds up and cracks Jay with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Jay has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Knowles is working away from the top position though.

Knowles wants to work for an arm triangle but Jay is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Knowles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jay wants to get back to full guard but Knowles has mounted him!

Knowles's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Jay is desperately trying to improve his position but Knowles has a good base and remains in mount.

Jay shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Knowles pinned against the cage. Knowles gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jay just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromKnowles.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jay trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Jay takes a decent strike to the side of the head.
Knowles is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Knowles throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Knowles shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jay pinned against the cage. Jay gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Knowles tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jay swivels and escapes.

Knowles moves into the clinch.
Jay is trying to drag Knowles to the mat but Knowles just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Knowles throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jay blocks it with crossed arms.

Knowles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Knowles misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Knowles fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Jay will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Knowles closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jay circles away.
Jay lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Knowles circles away quickly and effectively.
Knowles is looking to counter with head kicks.
Jay pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Knowles back to the cage. Jay follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Jay throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Knowles's waist but Knowles gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jay off to one side.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Jay.
Knowles is looking to counter with head kicks.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Knowles shoots in and gets a takedown into Jay's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Ian Jay Jay will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Knowles tries for a takedown but Jay sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Knowles darts in looking for a takedown but Jay gets double underhooks and turns Knowles into the cage.
And Jay tries to counter it with a takedown but Knowles pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Jay tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Knowles defends well and Jay ends up having to push Knowles into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Knowles wants a takedown.

Knowles shoots for a double leg takedown but Jay sprawls well. He's pushed Knowles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jay drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Knowles defends it well.

Knowles is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jay to keep the fight standing.

Jay is looking to advance position but Knowles has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Knowles takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Jay tries to lock up and control but Knowles gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Knowles working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Jay turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Knowles off and cradles Jay's limp body as Knowles celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Marcel Knowles!
