Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matheus Knorr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dick Mahoney! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knorr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Knorr lands in his opponent's guard. Knorr sitting in guard here, content to control. Knorr has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mahoney can do anything to dispel that myth. Knorr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mahoney swivels though and keeps the full guard. Mahoney looking to hit a scissor sweep but Knorr is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mahoney has Knorr pulled in close to control his posture. Knorr looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mahoney keeping moving, preventing Knorr from controlling successfully. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Mahoney tries to sprawl but Knorr drives through with a takedown into half guard. Knorr is pressing down on Mahoney's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mahoney is holding on for now. Mahoney moves into full guard.
Mahoney wants to sweep here but Knorr controlling him for the moment. Knorr is looking to advance position but Mahoney has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Knorr sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Knorr wants to improve his position but Mahoney is controlling well.

You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Knorr looking for submissions off his back. Knorr looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Well, if Mahoney is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mahoney tries to pass the half guard into mount. Knorr knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Mahoney really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Knorr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Knorr is trying to maintain the position but Mahoney is very close to passing his half guard. Knorr manages to get to full guard.
Mahoney controls from within his opponent's guard. Knorr working for a triangle but Mahoney defends it easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mahoney controlling from the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Matheus Knorr will probably get the nod. That's time! Knorr's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Knorr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Mahoney tries to roll over but Knorr keeps him under control. Knorr is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mahoney has managed to free his arm - good work. Mahoney is trying to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Knorr is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

That's one minute gone in the round. Mahoney trying to hold on to Knorr's head to control him but Knorr postures up.
Mahoney tries to roll over but Knorr keeps him under control. Knorr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mahoney can do to turn this around? Mahoney is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Knorr is working for a kimura but Mahoney is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Knorr is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Mahoney is trying to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Knorr works his way into full mount! Knorr swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mahoney is now in Knorr's guard. A big mistake from Knorr there, giving up the dominant position! Knorr had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mahoney defends it easily.

Matheus Knorr overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Knorr looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mahoney wants to pass the guard but Knorr is defending well. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Knorr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mahoney can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Knorr working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Mahoney has passed into half guard!
Mahoney content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Mahoney wants to lay and pray for a moment but Knorr keeps working. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matheus Knorr dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Knorr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Knorr is pushing down on Mahoney's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mahoney is fighting to maintain full guard but Knorr has managed to sneak the leg through. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Knorr is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mahoney defends it well. Mahoney is looking for a sweep. Knorr is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Mahoney trying to control from the bottom.
Knorr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mahoney keeps working. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mahoney is defending against the submission attempts here by Knorr.

Mahoney really wants to buck Knorr off and get back to his feet. Dick Mahoney has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
