PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Medin Sirovica (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Storm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Storm comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Thunderstruck - AC/DC kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Medin Sirovica!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ronnie Storm!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirovica keeps the fight on the outside.
Ronnie Storm seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Storm on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Storm digs a good body shot into Sirovica's ribs.
Storm misses the shot to the body.
Storm tries to clinch there but Sirovica circles away.
Storm shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sirovica as he jumps to the side.
Sirovica misses with a double jab.

Sirovica closes the distance and pushes Storm back into the cage.
Storm controlling the action here for a moment.
Storm lands a shoulder strike.

Storm has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Sirovica is trying to keep an underhook but Storm manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Sirovica makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

and Sirovica counters with a leg kick.

Sirovica tries for a takedown but Storm sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Storm drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Sirovica pushes Storm away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Storm gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Sirovica is looking to get back to his feet here but Storm is keeping cool and he's managed to take Sirovica's back.

Storm is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Sirovica. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Storm doesn't have the hooks in and Sirovica manages to turn into his guard.

Storm has picked Sirovica up - he's going for a ride! Storm dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Sirovica is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Storm pulls his head out easily.
Storm winds up and cracks Sirovica with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Storm working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Storm is nestled in close to Sirovica, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sirovica moves away from the strike by Storm.
Sirovica shoots in but Storm avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Storm ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sirovica moves away.
Sirovica rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Storm moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Storm closes the distance but Sirovica moves to the side
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

and Sirovica counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Storm tries to land a sweep but no joy.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Sirovica throws a right and a left that Storm avoids nicely.
Storm gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Sirovica holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Storm is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Sirovica has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Storm is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Sirovica wants to stand and escape but instead Storm has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Storm in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Sirovica tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Storm!
