Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Page (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris White has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Page!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris White!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Page wants to clinch up but White keeps it at a distance.
White throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Page's waist but Page gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing White off to one side.
Page moves in looking to clinch but White pushes him off.
White with the counter takedown but Page avoids it easily.

White closes the distance and clinches.
White is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
A nice right hand lands inside from Page.
Page will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning White up against the cage.
White is working for takedown but Page is calmly controlling the position for now.
Michael Page has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris White.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

White manages to pull guard.
White pulls Page in close to his closed guard and prevents Page from doing any damage or advancing position.
White has a closed guard, preventing Page from standing up.
White has control of Page's left arm, preventing Page from doing any damage.

Page wants to stand but White has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

White gets tackled into the cage by Page. Page maintains the clinch.

White tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
White shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Page defends it nicely.

White looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Page is fending him off so far but White persists. Nope, Page circles away and we're back to standing.

White gets control of Page's arms and successfully pulls guard. White will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
White not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Page cracks White with an open hand slap.
White shoots in looking for a takedown but Page manages to keep the fight standing, pushing White's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
White swats away the attempt to clinch by Page.
Page wants to clinch up but White keeps it at a distance.
White drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Page defends it well.
The fight stays on the outside here - White looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

White is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Page is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
White is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

White decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Page tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
White lands with a kick to the temple. Page shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
White blocks a head kick by Page.

White gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Page regains guard.
White landing with the ground and pound.

White gets to his feet - Page follows without any prompting.

White tries to score a power double leg takedown but Page sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten White somewhat.
It looked like Page was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
