Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Devin Tucker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Owens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owens has chosen Thunderstruck by AC/DC as his entrance music. Joseph Owens has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Devin Tucker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joseph Owens!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Owens manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tucker on his heels. He'll look to pass Tucker's guard now, I'm sure.
Owens trying to control but Tucker is working from the bottom.
Tucker trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Owens trying to control the position from guard on top but Tucker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tucker is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Owens stopping the sweep attempt from Tucker.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Tucker lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Owens circles away quickly and effectively.
Tucker throws a series of punches but Owens avoids them all with ease.
Tucker shoots in for a double leg but Owens sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tucker dives in and grabs Owens's left leg, looking for a takedown. Owens pushes down on Tucker's head and hops out.

Tucker has closed the distance and engaged Owens in a clinch.

Owens manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
We've been hearing that Tucker has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Owens has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Tucker is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Tucker tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Owens just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devin Tucker. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Owens has clasped his hands together around Tucker's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tucker is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Tucker is not content to let Owens control the position.
Owens working the ground and pound but Tucker is defending the strikes.
Owens creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Tucker sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Tucker tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Owens wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tucker manages to work his way to half guard, despite Owens's best efforts.
Owens wants to take a breather but Tucker is having none of it.

Owens might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tucker haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tucker is looking for a sweep. Owens is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Owens is keen to just control but Tucker is a slippery customer.
Tucker slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Tucker on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tucker tries to get out of the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Owens stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tucker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Owens stands and throws Tucker's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Tucker is not content to let Owens control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Owens slaps away a takedown attempt from Tucker, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Owens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tucker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tucker stands up and waves to Owens to follow him.
Owens tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tucker throwing a counter right hand but Owens manages to avoid it.

Owens fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tucker to the ground. Owens is now in Tucker's guard.
Owens is breathing heavily.
Owens looking to sit in guard and control but Tucker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tucker slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tucker works over Owens with some ground and pound from guard.
Owens doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Devin Tucker dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Owens swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Owens throws a solid leg kick but Tucker takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Owens.

Owens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tucker manages to get himself to full guard.

Tucker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Owens's guard.

Owens looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tucker is one step ahead there.

Tucker slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Owens has his feet on Tucker's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Owens darts in and clinches Tucker up against the cage.

Tucker's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Owens pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tucker forces Owens back against the cage and clinches.

Tucker breaks the clinch.

Tucker takes the fight into the clinch.
Owens trying to stall but Tucker improves his position.
Tucker drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Tucker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Owens shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Tucker manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Devin Tucker showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Tucker has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
