Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kayaki Chonin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mick Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chonin comes to the cage accompanied by The End is Near. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kayaki Chonin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mick Baker! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Luis Engracia and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baker jabbing away but nothing is landing. Chonin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Baker as he avoids it easily. Baker drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Mick Baker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab lands there for Baker. Baker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Chonin counters with a nice uppercut. No joy there for Baker, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Chonin counters with a nice leg kick. Chonin has a takedown stuffed. Baker throws a poor cross that misses
and Chonin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Baker avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Chonin. Chonin is working for a submission of some sort.
Baker tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Baker wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Baker pushes Chonin off looking to stand but Chonin dives back in and keeps control.
Chonin wants to control but Baker is keeping him busy. Baker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chonin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Chonin is stalling here. Baker is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Chonin seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Baker has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Chonin wants to control but Baker postures up. Baker wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chonin keeps working. Baker looks gassed! Chonin struggling a bit here. Baker working the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chonin can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Kayaki Chonin. Baker swings widly with a right hand
and Chonin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Baker walks into a stiff left hand from Chonin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Chonin shoots in but Baker avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kayaki Chonin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Chonin has a takedown stuffed. Baker throws a lazy uppercut
and Chonin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Good shot there by Chonin. Baker tries to clinch up. Baker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A combination from Baker does no damage. Nice takedown defense from Baker. No joy for Chonin on that attempt. Chonin shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Baker as he avoids it easily. Baker connects with a nice looking jab.
Baker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Chonin throws a jab but it's blocked by Baker. Chonin tries to keep at a distance but Baker has taken the fight into the clinch. Baker lands a body punch in the clinch. Baker swings away with an uppercut that misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Baker. Baker escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Baker tries to clinch but Chonin moves out of range. Baker is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Chonin. Baker wants to clinch. Chonin drives through with a takedown into guard. Chonin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Baker wants to stand up but Chonin is controlling him. Baker wants to sweep here but Chonin controlling him for the moment. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Baker is on top in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Baker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Chonin swivels though and keeps the full guard. Chonin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Chonin passes to full mount! Baker is squirming around, avoiding Chonin's attempts to control the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they both work up against the meshing. Chonin is in the full mount, landing strikes.
It looks like Mick Baker has been cut. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Baker really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kayaki Chonin dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mick Baker's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Chonin takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Chonin lands a glancing blow to the side of Baker's head. Baker tries to clinch but Chonin is having none of it. Baker throws a poor cross that misses
and Chonin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Baker's guard now. Chonin drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Chonin as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Baker screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Chonin! Nice submission victory there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Kayaki Chonin!
