Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brendan Weston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Stevenson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Just Like You. Brian Stevenson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Stevenson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brendan Weston! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stevenson moves out of range as Weston strikes. Stevenson clinches with his opponent.
Stevenson content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Weston tries to break the clinch but Stevenson is controlling the position. Weston has had enough of the clinch but Stevenson keeps him there for the moment. Stevenson jumps guard.
Weston throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stevenson controls Weston momentarily but Weston frees himself. Stevenson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Weston can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stevenson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Stevenson wants to sweep but no luck. Stevenson managing to control the position. Weston thows a big elbow that misses. Weston throws and elbow that misses. Stevenson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Weston's guard. Nice move by Stevenson!
That's one minute gone in the round. Stevenson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stevenson stands and throws Weston's legs to the side, diving into side control. Stevenson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Stevenson slips a straight right by Weston. Weston looks to land a left hand but Stevenson moved out of range nicely. Weston throws a big shot that misses. Weston moves into range and connects with a jab. Stevenson blocks a head kick by Weston.
A punch combination from Weston misses. Stevenson shoots in and drives through. Weston sprawls well. Stevenson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Weston as he jumps to the side. Stevenson is breathing heavily. Weston tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A swing and a miss from Weston. Weston lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stevenson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Weston tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Weston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stevenson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Weston missing with punches from the bottom.
Stevenson content to control rather than advance. Stevenson stops Weston from getting back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Weston can do anything to dispel that myth. Weston is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Weston is in trouble now - Stevenson has advanced to mount! Weston should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Stevenson scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Weston?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevenson landing shots from mount. Stevenson lands a big shot there that rocks Weston but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Stevenson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Stevenson looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Weston throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Stevenson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Weston throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Stevenson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Weston avoids a series of strikes thrown by Stevenson.
Stevenson misses with a head shot. Weston is looking to get to half guard. Weston really wants to buck Stevenson off and get back to his feet. Weston defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Stevenson.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Weston tries to improve his position but instead Stevenson has taken his back! Stevenson controlling well, preventing Weston from escaping the position.
Stevenson lands a punch to the side of the head from the back. Weston tries to break free.
Weston trying to get back to his feet but Stevenson is in full control for now. Stevenson somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Stevenson scores with punches to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Weston's corner calls for a 1-2. Weston obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Stevenson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Stevenson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Weston tries to avoid it but Stevenson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Weston to the ground. Weston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Stevenson on the wrong end of a nice hook. Stevenson on the wrong end of a nice jab. A telegraphed right hand from Weston misses the target. Weston scores with a nice strike. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stevenson. Stevenson steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Weston. Weston is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stevenson. Stevenson blocks a head kick by Weston.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stevenson forces Weston back against the cage and clinches. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stevenson breaks from the clinch.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Weston. Stevenson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Weston uses from the top position. Stevenson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Stevenson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Weston does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stevenson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Weston scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Stevenson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Stevenson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Stevenson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weston swivels though and keeps the full guard. Weston looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Stevenson pushes down on Weston's leg and manages to get into half guard. Weston keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Well, if Stevenson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Weston tries to roll over but Stevenson keeps him under control. Stevenson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Stevenson passes to side control. Weston is not content to let Stevenson control the position. Weston tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Stevenson is looking to take a break and control but Weston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Weston parries the strikes from Stevenson easily there. Stevenson is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Weston to escape.
Stevenson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stevenson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Weston throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
And that's the end of the fight! Brian Stevenson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stevenson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
