Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alberto Dickerson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Apollo!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Wesley Smith and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Apollo lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Apollo.
Dickerson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Apollo.
Apollo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Apollo misses with some punches.
Apollo lands with a light punch inside.
Apollo avoiding damage as Dickerson throws knees to the body.
A short body shot lands from Apollo as the two fighters clinch.
Apollo working some nice short punches in the clinch.
It looks like Alberto Dickerson has been cut.
Apollo tries a body shot but Dickerson blocks it.
Dickerson is trying to pull guard but Apollo has him pressed against the cage.
Dickerson is stalling here.
Apollo letting Dickerson take a breather here.
Apollo lands on the inside with an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dickerson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Apollo pushes Dickerson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dickerson is rocked!
Dickerson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Apollo breaks from the clinch.
Apollo bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Dickerson is breathing heavily.
Apollo cracks Dickerson with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Dickerson tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Apollo pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Dickerson is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Max Apollo!
A very excited looking Max Apollo made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
