Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lechu Szulcu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cortez has chosen Brazilian Fight Song by Stephane Attias as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortez shoots in for a takedown but Szulcu shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Szulcu feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cortez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Cortez has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Szulcu seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Cortez can turn it around.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Szulcu slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Szulcu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Szulcu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Szulcu lands in his opponent's guard.

Well Szulcu has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
