Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ivo Koljeno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Ivo Koljeno has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin gets a clinch.
We've been hearing reports that Koljeno has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Koljeno breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Martin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Koljeno is trying to defend but Martin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Koljeno is looking to get back to is feet but Martin passes into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Martin is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Koljeno knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martin lands a few punches from side control.

Martin decides to stand back up. Martin steps back and let's Koljeno get back to his feet.
Martin throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

Martin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Koljeno's half guard.

Martin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Martin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Martin lands a nice short elbow.

Martin wants to finish this one by submission but Koljeno is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Martin.

Martin has control of Koljeno's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Koljeno regains control of the situation pretty easily.
