Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wylan Mercy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Cooler Than Me by Mike Posner as his entrance music. The key to victory for Wylan Mercy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wylan Mercy ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Peter Johnson! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson fails with a takedown attempt. Mercy looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Johnson throws a right and a left that both miss. Mercy moves out of range as Johnson throws a body kick.
Johnson throws a series of punches but Mercy avoids them all with ease. Johnson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mercy . Johnson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Mercy explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Mercy is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Johnson to keep the fight standing. Mercy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johnson.
Mercy is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mercy 's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Mercy moves out of range as Johnson strikes. Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mercy tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Johnson manages to circle out of the way. Peter Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson moves into range and connects with a jab. The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Mercy has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Mercy takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Mercy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Johnson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson throws out a loose jab but Mercy uses good head movement to avoid it. Johnson misses with a two punch combination.
A combination from Johnson does no damage. Johnson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mercy . Mercy darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Mercy prevents Johnson from standing back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mercy working the head and body with strikes. Mercy works his way into side control. Johnson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. An elbow from Mercy crashes against the mat.
Johnson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mercy tries to move to mount but Johnson blocks the move with his legs. Mercy decides to stand up, so the ref orders Johnson to his feet. Mercy showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Johnson.
Mercy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Mercy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wylan Mercy . That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mercy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Mercy doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnson circles away.
Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Mercy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Mercy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Johnson misses with a few strikes there.
Johnson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Johnson feints and as Mercy raises his hands in defense, Johnson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mercy is working an open guard so Johnson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Johnson throws a right and a left that Mercy avoids nicely. Mercy shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Mercy dives in for a single leg takedown but Johnson sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Johnson misses with a wild combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Peter Johnson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mercy slips a jab and a cross from Johnson.
Mercy bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Mercy working the strikes but Johnson uses the opportunity to regain half guard. Johnson gets full guard. Mercy is looking to work some ground and pound but Johnson has wrist control. Mercy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Johnson keeping moving, preventing Mercy from controlling successfully. Johnson throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Johnson striking off his back but it's not causing Mercy any problems. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Mercy is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mercy fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson throws a big shot that misses. Wylan Mercy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Mercy gets tackled into the cage by Johnson. Johnson maintains the clinch. Johnson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Johnson moves into the clinch successfully.
Johnson dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Mercy wants the takedown. Johnson is fighting it off but Mercy persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Johnson's guard against the cage. Mercy pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Johnson is keeping the position for now. Mercy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mercy has managed to get both his arms back between Johnson's legs - danger averted.

Johnson looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mercy has picked Johnson up and slammed him! Johnson can't keep hold of the triangle and Mercy manages to pass to side control! Johnson is trying to control Mercy 's posture but Mercy avoids it. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Johnson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Johnson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mercy wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mercy is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there. Mercy trying to control the position but Johnson is working away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Johnson manages to get back to half guard. Johnson manages to escape and get back to his feet! Mercy tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Johnson swivels and escapes. Mercy misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johnson.

Mercy jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Mercy around his waist. Mercy gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Peter Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Johnson has Mercy up against the cage in a clinch.
Johnson stalls. Mercy tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Johnson avoids it. Johnson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. No joy there for Johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Mercy slips under a jab. Mercy tries to counter with a takedown but Johnson is quick to defend against it. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Johnson throws a series of punches but Mercy avoids them all with ease. Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Mercy moves out of range easily. A thudding body kick lands there by Mercy !
Mercy shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mercy showed some decent athleticism there. Mercy blocks the strikes from Johnson.
Johnson is looking to escape. Johnson is trying to maintain the position but Mercy is very close to passing his half guard. Mercy scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson has a hand on Mercy 's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Mercy takes advantage of the position though and mounts him! Wylan Mercy overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Mercy looking to control but Johnson is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Johnson in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Johnson tries to lock up and control but Mercy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Johnson wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Mercy takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Johnson bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mercy looking for a sweep. Not yet Mercy , not yet. Mercy has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Johnson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Johnson throws a right hand that Mercy ducks under and follows up with a left that Mercy also avoids with ease. Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Mercy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The fight moves into the clinch position. Mercy has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Johnson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Johnson manages to get to his feet, escaping the difficult position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. A swing and a miss from Johnson. Mercy fails to land the takedown. Johnson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Mercy counters with a left and a right that stings Johnson. Johnson tries a head kick but it misses.

Mercy steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Johnson. As Johnson tries to get set, Mercy tries to push him back and clinch up but Johnson manages to avoid the attempt. Johnson goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Mercy lands with a slapping head kick. Wylan Mercy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Peter Johnson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Johnson shoots in and bounces Mercy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Peter Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
