Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lyoto Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Crane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lyoto Machida!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Crane!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crane looks for a takedown but Machida sprawls well.
Machida scores with a hook to the body. Crane takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Crane should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Crane shoots for a takedown but Machida saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Crane dives in and grabs Machida's left leg, looking for a takedown. Machida pushes down on Crane's head and hops out.
Lyoto Machida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Crane.
Crane fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Crane avoids a punch combination nicely.

Machida feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Crane sprawling to the canvas! Crane rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Machida finish him?!


It looks like Frank Crane has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Crane closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Crane lands in his opponent's guard.
Machida will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Crane passes into half guard.

Crane is trying to work for a kimura but Machida is defending well.
Machida controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Machida regains full guard. Nicely done.
Crane passes into half guard.
Machida is looking for a sweep. Crane is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Crane is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Machida has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Crane is working away from the top position though.
Machida is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Machida is in trouble now - Crane has advanced to mount!
Machida can't escape the position.

Crane throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Machida has his hands clasped together but Crane breaks the hold and Machida is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Crane!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Frank Crane!
