Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Elmore James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Wehmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barney Wehmer is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Elmore James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Barney Wehmer! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wehmer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. James was covering up waiting for the punch and Wehmer finishes the takedown easily into guard. Wehmer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard. Wehmer wants to control from the top but James keeps moving. We've been hearing good reports from James's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Wehmer stands and throws James's legs to the side, diving into side control. Wehmer tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Wehmer trying to control the position but James is working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wehmer is trying to get an arm triangle but James is defending well. Wehmer throws a strike aimed at the side of James's head but James avoids it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wehmer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Wehmer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Wehmer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but James is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wehmer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. James knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wehmer taking a breather here. James wants to get back to his feet. An elbow from Wehmer crashes against the mat.
Wehmer is working to tighten his grip on James's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. James has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Wehmer is really squeezing tight and eventually James passes out! Wehmer breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Barney Wehmer! Barney Wehmer tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
