Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Ortega! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Dickson! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dickson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ortega. Dickson looks to score with a jab to the body but Ortega is just out of range. Ortega is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Dickson lands a front kick. Ortega lets loose with a powerful body kick. Dickson will feel that in the morning. Ortega shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Ortega content to stall in guard here. Ortega would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Ortega trying to control but Dickson is working from the bottom. Ortega prevents Dickson from getting back to his feet. Ortega trying to control but Dickson is working from the bottom.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ortega accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ortega prevents Dickson from getting back to his feet.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Dickson moves into the clinch. Ortega can't find room to land a body shot as Dickson controls the action.
Ortega tries for a takedown but Dickson manages to get underhooks.
Dickson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ortega looking to throw knees to the head but Dickson is blocking nicely.
Ortega is trying to break free. Dickson misses with a knee strike.
Ortega wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ortega wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Ortega misses with a short punch on the inside. Dickson blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Dickson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. A head kick lands from Dickson that sends Ortega to the canvas. Ortega tries to scramble back to his feet but Dickson brings him back down into side control.
Ortega is rocked!
It looks like Pedro Ortega has been cut. Ortega is breathing heavily. Ortega looks to move to half guard but instead Dickson has passed into mount! Damn! Oh Ortega is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Dickson controlling his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ortega wants to hold on but Dickson pushes him away. Ortega seems to have got his legs back now. Ortega might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ortega is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Dickson controlling from mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortega is squirming around, avoiding Dickson's attempts to control the action. Ortega is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dickson controlling from the full mount. Ortega tries to reverse the position but Dickson maintains control. Dickson content just to control the position here.
Despite being in the dominant position, Brian Dickson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dickson throws a head kick but Ortega moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brian Dickson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Pedro Ortega's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Ortega shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dickson as he avoids it easily. Ortega lands a nice shot to the body.
Ortega looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Look low, kick high! Dickson uses the oldest trick in the book to send Ortega tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Dickson is absolutely delighted - when Ortega wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
