Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Boothe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pulover Teixeira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
47 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thomas Boothe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pulover Teixeira! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Teixeira looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Boothe feinted with a counter takedown. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Teixeira tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Boothe was well out of range. Poor timing from Teixeira. Boothe half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Teixeira drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boothe regains half guard. Teixeira not landing any meaningful shots this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Teixeira is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boothe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Teixeira's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Teixeira's back! Teixeira looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Teixeira is in bad spot here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Teixeira is trying to get back to his feet but Boothe has full control of the position and if anything, Teixeira has just worked his way into a worse spot. Teixeira is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Boothe.
Boothe's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Teixeira throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Teixeira shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Boothe managing to control the position. Teixeira is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Boothe is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Boothe has escaped and now he's on top! Boothe stands and throws Teixeira's legs to the side, diving into side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boothe prevents Teixeira from escaping the position.

Boothe takes Teixeira's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Teixeira is in trouble. Boothe is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Teixeira is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Boothe controlling the position well here. Teixeira rolled but Boothe kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Boothe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Teixeira to score an easy takedown into full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Boothe managing to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Teixeira looking to pass the guard. Thomas Boothe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Boothe is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boothe content to control rather than advance. Teixeira looking for a kimura from the bottom but Boothe passes into side control! Boothe takes a little break here. Teixeira wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Teixeira was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Boothe looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boothe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Teixeira can do to turn this around? Teixeira has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Teixeira trying to get back to his feet but Boothe is in full control for now. Teixeira tries to roll but Boothe sticks to his back.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pulover Teixeira has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Thomas Boothe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Teixeira is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
And that's the end of the fight! Thomas Boothe showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Boothe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Thomas Boothe! Thomas Boothe decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
