Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joaquin Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Geronimo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodriguez comes to the cage accompanied by Last Man Standing . Geronimo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by "War," by Edwin Starr. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Geronimo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Geronimo shoots and misses
and Rodriguez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez crunches a lovely knee into Geronimo's ribcage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rodriguez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Geronimo swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Geronimo closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Geronimo lands in his opponent's guard.
Rodriguez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Geronimo manages to get himself to full guard.

Geronimo fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rodriguez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Geronimo counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Geronimo.
Geronimo passes Rodriguez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Rodriguez is not content to let Geronimo control the position.
Rodriguez wants to get back to full guard.

Geronimo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Geronimo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Rodriguez has hold of Geronimo's hands but Geronimo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Geronimo seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Rodriguez is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
