The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns looks to land a combination but Woodley avoids it well.
Burns changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Woodley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Burns seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Woodley for as long as he can get away with.
Burns continues to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burns has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Woodley is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Burns yanks on the arm and Woodley is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Burns.
