Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Handleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulas Kanodia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Handleman comes to the cage accompanied by Pride FC Theme. Kanodia has chosen Badri Ki Dulhania as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hulas Kanodia! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kanodia looks to throw the jab but Handleman is out of range. Kanodia gets caught flat footed, as Handleman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Kanodia keeping full guard, as Handleman tries to pass. Kanodia preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Handleman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Handleman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Handleman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Handleman is trying to get back to his feet but Kanodia has full control of the position and if anything, Handleman has just worked his way into a worse spot. Kanodia controlling well, preventing Handleman from escaping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Handleman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Handleman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kanodia utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Handleman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Handleman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Handleman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Handleman trying to control the position from guard on top but Kanodia is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Handleman missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Kanodia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Handleman manages to avoid it. Handleman is looking to chop away at Kanodia's legs. Handleman on the wrong end of a nice jab.
It looks like Kelvin Handleman has been cut. Kanodia jabbing away but nothing is landing. Handleman throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kanodia uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Handleman.
Kanodia thows a leg kick but Handleman checks it and Handleman counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The fighters are working up against the cage. Kanodia manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Handleman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kanodia can do to turn this around? This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Handleman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kanodia pulls his leg out and moves away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Handleman closes the distance looking to clinch and Kanodia cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Kanodia misses with a hook. Kanodia looks to land a body kick but Handleman moved away. Handleman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kanodia but Kanodia pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kelvin Handleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Handleman misses with a wild combination.
Kanodia doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Handleman waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kanodia. Good exchange - Kanodia coming out on top. Handleman throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Handleman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Kanodia has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Handleman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kanodia feints and then cracks Handleman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Handleman down. Handleman lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Handleman. Kanodia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Handleman moves away. Kelvin Handleman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Handleman moves into the clinch. Handleman has Kanodia pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kanodia manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Handleman wants the takedown. Kanodia is fighting it off but Handleman persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Kanodia's guard against the cage. Kanodia has Handleman pulled in close to control his posture. Handleman with a flurry of punches that miss. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hammerfist, elbow! yells Handleman's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Handleman looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Handleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kanodia swivels though and keeps the full guard. Kanodia looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Handleman stands up over Kanodia, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Handleman looking to pass the guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Kanodia looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Handleman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Handleman throws a strike but Kanodia rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Kanodia wants to control from the top but Handleman keeps moving. Handleman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Kanodia is one step ahead there. Kanodia wants to control from the top but Handleman keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Handleman pulls Kanodia in close to prevent any damage. Handleman keeping moving, preventing Kanodia from controlling successfully.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A punch combination from Handleman misses. A little jabbing left from Kanodia on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Handleman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kanodia defends it nicely. Handleman has his takedown stuffed and Kanodia counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kelvin Handleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. A head kick misses from Handleman. Handleman misses with a low kick. Handleman shoots in for a takedown but Kanodia shows good takedown defense. Handleman gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Kanodia manages to break the clinch.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kanodia ducks under a wild hook from Handleman. Handleman tries to close the distance and clinch but Kanodia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that's the end of the fight! Kelvin Handleman showed his dominance in that final round. I think Handleman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
