Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Earle Gardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hughie Fury (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hughie Fury has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Earle Gardner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hughie Fury!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Steve Erwin and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner swats away the attempt to clinch by Fury.

Fury gets a clinch.
Gardner takes a knee to the side of the body.

Fury breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gardner tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fury swivels and escapes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fury gets the takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fury stands up and beckons Gardner to his feet.

Fury shoots in and bounces Gardner off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fury showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Gardner working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fury.
Fury seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fury throws a big right hand that misses.
Fury showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Fury throwing strikes but missing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gardner working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Fury.
Fury stays in close to Gardner's body and controls the position.
Fury throwing strikes from guard but Gardner blocks nicely.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Gardner closes this distance looking for a takedown but Fury circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Fury drives through with a takedown into Gardner's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Gardner is breathing heavily.
Fury slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Fury throwing strikes but missing.

Fury drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gardner dives on top into guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gardner looking to sit in guard and control but Fury gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fury looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fury has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Fury throwing shots but Gardner is blocking nicely.
Fury controlling the action here.
Fury is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fury is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fury moves into range and clinches up with Gardner.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Fury is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gardner can't fight it off and eventually Fury manages to take the fight to the floor. Gardner looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Gardner wants to get back to his feet but Fury is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Fury wants to control from the top but Gardner keeps moving.

Fury throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fury content to stall in guard here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Gardner is trying to control the position but Fury postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Gardner fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gardner fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Gardner gets caught flat footed, as Fury shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fury controlling from the top position.
Gardner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fury is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hughie Fury showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Fury decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Gardner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Fury.
Fury takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Fury's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Fury is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gardner is just riding it out for now. Fury eventually gives up the hold.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Earle Gardner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fury shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gardner is trying to defend but Fury finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Gardner kicks off Fury and gets to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Fury feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Fury stands and throws Gardner's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Fury misses with the ground and pound.
Fury is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
An elbow from Fury crashes against the mat.
Fury controls the position.
Gardner managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Fury.
Fury has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Fury controlling the pace for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Gardner wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Fury.
Fury looking to ground and pound but Gardner is blocking nicely.
Fury controlling the pace for now.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hughie Fury comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Fury has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Hughie Fury decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
