The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simon avoids the head kick by Johannesen.
Johannesen looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Johannesen wants to slow Simon down by chopping away at his legs.
Simon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Simon misses with a two punch combination.
Johannesen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
It looked like Simon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Johannesen throws a right hand that Simon ducks under and follows up with a left that Simon also avoids with ease.
Johannesen has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Simon is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Johannesen defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Simon.
A solid leg kick lands there for Johannesen.
No joy there for Simon, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Simon looks for a takedown but Johannesen sprawls well.
Johannesen throws a sloppy head kick and Simon moves out of range easily.

Simon throws a big counter combination but Johannesen scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Simon has taken the fight to the clinch.
Simon lands a body punch.

Simon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Simon clinches up with Johannesen and pushes him back against the cage.

Simon breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Johannesen fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Simon is out of range.
It looked like Simon was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Simon gets a clinch.

Simon successfully pulls guard.
Simon pulls Johannesen in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Simon is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Johannesen has his hands clasped together but Simon extends and breaks Johannesen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Simon.
