Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nir Sosa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, KJ Talley!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Talley connects with a body shot.
Talley fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Sosa checks it well.
Sosa half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Talley throws a predictable looking body shot

and Sosa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

I really don't envy Talley right now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Sosa has the hooks in. Talley is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sosa is riding his opponent, not letting Talley buck him off.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Talley trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Sosa manages to pass to mount!

Sosa is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Talley can do to turn this around?
Sosa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Talley might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sosa haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sosa keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

KJ Talley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Talley throws a body shot but no joy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Talley throws an overhand right that lands on Sosa's shoulder, as Sosa tries to avoid the shot.
Talley misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sosa.
Sosa drops down looking for a counter takedown but Talley sprawls and moves away.

Sosa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Talley.
Sosa changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Sosa on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Talley wants to control but Sosa is keeping busy and won't allow it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nir Sosa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sosa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
