The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDonald swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Sharp counters with a one-two to the body.
McDonald shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Sharp as he jumps to the side.
McDonald stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sharp.
McDonald looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sharp pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sharp lands a jab-cross combination.
McDonald throws an overhand right that lands on Sharp's shoulder, as Sharp tries to avoid the shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from McDonald is defended easily by Sharp.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ronnie McDonald. That's going to take a lot out of him.

McDonald clinches with his opponent.
Sharp gets through McDonald's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

McDonald pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sharp on the wrong end of a nice jab.

and Sharp counters with a nice low kick that buckles McDonald's knee momentarily.
McDonald has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Sharp moves into the clinch.
McDonald misses with a short punch on the inside.

McDonald successfully pulls guard.
Sharp is stalling in the full guard.
Sharp working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of McDonald's head.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sharp accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Sharp works over McDonald with some ground and pound from guard.
Sharp wants to stand and escape but instead McDonald has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
