Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Tomas Chicote and Yuki Shojo. Yuki Shojo is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Tomas Chicote! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 1 losses; Yuki Shojo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, James Atkins and Richard Clark.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chicote. Shojo clinches. Chicote tries to pull guard but Shojo won't allow it.

No luck so far. Chicote is working hard here to advance position. Chicote might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Shojo sitting in guard, not really doing much. Shojo wants to control from the top but Chicote keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shojo wants to control from the top but Chicote keeps moving. Shojo stopping the sweep attempt from Chicote. Chicote is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Chicote is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Shojo sees it coming and defends easily.

Score +3 for passing guard: Chicote (2) vs (7) Shojo Shojo taking a breather here. Shojo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Chicote is not content to let Shojo control the position.

That's five minutes gone in the round. I wouldn't like to be where Chicote is right now. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Chicote struggling a bit here. Shojo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chicote keeps working. Shojo might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Chicote haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chicote tries to get out of the position. Shojo trying to control the action but Chicote is working from the bottom. Chicote is looking for a sweep. Chicote regains half guard. Chicote tries to get to full guard but Shojo has control of the leg. Chicote trying to control here.

Shojo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chicote does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Chicote has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Chicote is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shojo pulls his head out easily. Shojo trying to control but Chicote is having none of it.

That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Shojo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Chicote tries to reverse the position but Shojo maintains control. Chicote is controlling an arm, preventing Shojo from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Chicote is not content to let Shojo control the position.

Shojo pushes down on Chicote's leg and manages to get into half guard. Shojo performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Chicote tries to roll over but Shojo keeps him under control. Shojo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shojo is trying to control. Chicote wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
